چکیده
In recent years, the discrete element method (DEM) has gradually been applied to traditional fluidization simulation of fine particles in a micro fluidized bed (MFB). The application DEM simulating fast MFB not yet received attention. This article presents drag model that relies on surrounding environment particles, namely particle circumstance-dependent or PCDD model. Fast an is simulated using based Simulations indicate local structure exhibits aggregation, which natural property fluidization, forming where continuous dilute phase and dispersed concentrated coexist. There exists strong effect solid back-mixing MFB, leading relatively low outlet flux. gas is, however, so distinct. axial porosity shows monotonically increasing distribution with height but does strictly follow single exponential distribution. volume fraction at bottom significantly lower than correlated value CFB. heterogeneous cross-sectional average half also weakened. radial higher pattern central region one sidewall region.

We report a computational fluid dynamics-discrete element method (CFD-DEM) simulation study on the interplay between mass transfer and a heterogeneous catalyzed chemical reaction in cocurrent gas-particle flows as encountered in risers. Slip velocity, axial gas dispersion, gas bypassing, and particle mixing phenomena have been evaluated under riser flow conditions to study the complex system be...
متن کاملCfd Simulation of Micro-climate in Waterfront
As an important influence factor of unban climate, unban water bodies take positive effect on the microclimate of surrounding area in summer. This paper firstly evaluated performances of five different models comparing with experimental results of windtunnel to find out which is most suitable for thermal prediction of micro-climate. Then, SKE model was selected to simulate four planning cases c...
متن کاملPrediction of Viscosity of Slurry Suspended Fine Particles Using Coupled DEM-DNS Simulation
Prediction of the apparent viscosity of a slurry suspended fine particles is important for developing slurrytreating processes. After Einstein’s formulation for the apparent viscosity of a dilute, completely dispersed slurry, several viscosity equations were proposed. However, viscosity depends not only on the volume fraction of solid particles but also on many factors such as particle shape, p...

Size reduction process is widely used in the chemical and pharmaceutical industries. Jetmill is one of the most commonly used tool for such processes due to advantages they over other mills such as low contamination and narrow product size distribution. However the efficiency of the jet milling process is very low, furthermore the jet-milling process is sensitive to many parameters such as feed...
